I told the delivery guy the arms had crush marks and caused additional wrinkling down the front and back of the arms. I said that something heavy was stack on top of the arms and damaged the leather. He said the leather would relax and call the store in a few days if did not improve. No improvement, furniture repairman sent out 4 weeks later and said could not eliminate this issue. Baer never called me for an update I had to contact the service department. Was told the report stated this was all within normal range for leather. Interesting because I was told by the furniture repair man, who worked on the leather for thirty minutes, that he could not repair.

The service department sloughed this off and said that was all they could do and I would have to deal with it at the store level. Contacted store manager, Brad, who said the service department has to make all the decisions. Was passed back to service department. I left another message because I wanted a copy of the report (I asked for that in the beginning but was not provided) and I want information from ASTM with a ruling that declared this normal. No one has returned my call.

NO ONE apologized for the damage. This is not normal wear and tear or natural markings in the hide. This was caused by weight pressing down on the arms for an extended period of time (like during shipping). Baer could make a claim with the shipper and create a charge back. No …they wanted to ignore me and hide behind a report that I never saw and claims that this is within a normal range for the way leather behaves. Interesting since I have visited the store four times, taken pictures of the couch on the floor and the arms are smooth and tight.

When you purchase leather furniture, according to ASTM, the leather is tightly pulled and nicely hugs the seat cushions, back and arms. The leather will SLOWLY break and soften with regular use. My couch arrived with crushed leather and wrinkles from the factory. Unacceptable but Baers just wants me to go away.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02250514055554063313noreply@blogger.com
